Mom

The month of May spiritually signifies renewal, growth, and the embrace of new beginnings. When we look outside, the landscape is blooming in many different ways. The colors of spring come alive. As Mother’s Day approaches, our thoughts go towards our mothers. If our mother is still alive, we can find a way to make her feel special; but if our mother has died, it is profoundly difficult. The absence of her can leave a void that can’t be filled unless we understand that spirit communication is still possible.

When I think of my mother, I have such appreciation for the gifts that she gave me. The most important gift was the way she helped me understand and accept my mediumship. I was around four years old when I first told her about the visitors in my room. She acted as if this were totally natural. She helped me identify who the spirit was and to understand the reason for the visit. She would take out her photo album and ask me if i recognized any of the photos. This was very easy for me because the clear picture in the book was as vivid as the spirit visitation. The man with the hat was definitely her grandfather, and the heavy set woman with her hair pulled back was her mother. Her mother died young, so I never got the chance to meet her. She and her mother were very close, and she explained that now she had an angel body and was watching over us. My mother would also see these visitations, and she helped me understand that it is possible to tap into the spirit world. She explained that this was instinctual and that we all have this intuitive ability. Her calm compassion was just what I needed at that time, and I will always be grateful to her for that.

In life, my mother always took care of me; and now in spirit, she still watches over me. It is so important to take the time to notice the signs. I have found the joy in the celebration of my mother for Mother’s Day.
