The month of June usually greets us with the arrival of the warm weather and the beautiful colors and smells of the beginning of summer. The month of June also reminds us to celebrate our fathers. During this time many clients that come to have a session with me are interested in communicating with their fathers and I am fortunate to get to know many spirits that were called “father” in this lifetime. I would like to share some of their stories.
Jennifer came to see me for a session. As soon as I opened up to spirit I was able to feel much love around her. I could see a man who had been around fifty years old when he died. I felt a deep love coming from this man and I knew he was Jennifer’s father, and that she was Daddy’s little girl. When I told Jennifer what I was feeling she smiled. Her father told her to stop having regrets because she was not there when he died. She had shared every important moment of her life with him, and she was there to help him when he became ill. But dying was what he needed to do on his own. He asked her to please understand. By the end of our session Jennifer did understand and was at peace by knowing her father was finally healed.
Loretta came reluctantly to see me because she never really knew her father, but hoped to communicate with her stepfather. The first spirit that came through to me was a young man in his late thirties who chain smoked, and had died of a massive heart attack. Loretta confirmed it was her biological father. He told her of the events in her life, that he watched over her, and how proud he was of her. He showed me an older man that he called his best friend. He called this man Ronny. Loretta looked at me with surprise, and told me Ron was her stepfather. She confessed that she never knew that Ron and her Dad were friends. Loretta’s father told me that her mother was embarrassed about marrying her husband’s friend, and did not speak of it. He said it doesn’t matter any longer. He was happy that Ronny was able to take care of her and her mother after his death. Loretta smiled and thanked her dad and Ron for being there for her.
Spirit communication is always interesting, you never know what you will learn about the special people in your life and how it will bring you comfort.
My dad was a difficult father. He did not speak to me much, and when he had something to say it was not always very positive. My parents had a devoted relationship and I was fortunate to be raised in a home with parents who loved each other. My mother was extremely caring and my father treated me as if I was a bother. It wasn’t until a year after he died that I was able to communicate with him and understand why he was not able to be a father to me. After hearing his story I felt compassion and understood that he did the best he could. He had a very difficult childhood. His mother died when he was nine, his father never showed him love. By the time he was a teenager he was living on his own.
When he had his own children he found it very difficult to show love. He was at home every night, provided for the family and kept me safe. Now as an adult I accept his way of caring.
I hope that while our fathers are alive we love and appreciate them, or in some cases let go of the trauma that they may have caused. Resolving a situation while someone is alive is always best, but remember even after death resolution can be possible.
