For the last two months, I was unable to write my blog because I needed time to grieve. My beloved border collie, Jacob, had to be euthanized. Fifteen years of loving him still wasn’t enough. I knew that I would soon communicate with his spirit, but the physical loss was so great that I needed the time to embrace my pain. With every fiber of our being, this is a moment that every pet lover fears, the day you have to say goodbye until next time.
I want to share with you that what feels like an ending to us is a beginning for them. Upon death, they experience an immediate, painless entry to the light, or as some call it, the rainbow bridge. Your pet’s soul would not simply dissolve; instead, it would retain its unique identity, memories, and emotional connections with you. They lack the human ego, resistance, and complex beliefs about death. Animals trust in the natural flow of life and death. Their consciousness simply expands and awakens in a new reality. The primary sensation is one of profound relief, the instantaneous sensation of any physical pain, discomfort, or limitations of age or illness that might have been that of an old body, the stiff joints, the failing organs are simply gone. The soul feels an incredible lightness and freedom.
Understand they are not making this transition alone. The recognition of welcoming spirits marks the next significant step in their journey. A joyful reunion of pets from the same household or humans who have previously died and were in their lives.
There are also special guardians who help the pet with love and kindness, understand and manage their new spirit world, and support their ongoing connection to you. The guardian teaches the pet how to feel your love and even visit energetically without becoming stuck or hindering its own progress. Even a pet’s journey of growth and healing must continue. Soon, your pet releases energetic and emotional imprints carried within the consciousness. If your pet holds any memory of trauma before you lovingly took them into your life, these memories are washed away.
Although the loving bond with you remains fully intact and accessible, they are now truly living in an energetic sense in this new dimension of profound peace. Now, having understood the purpose of their past life and healed its lingering pains. Your pet’s soul reaches a state of peace, described as surpassing any earthly understanding. It is a peace that comes from wholeness, from being complete, from recognizing its eternal nature and connection to the divine source. Separation is merely the illusion created by physical experience. There is no permanent parting. Every goodbye whispered through tears is just a see you soon echoing in the heart of eternity. Your pet knows this inherent truth: that love truly never dies.
In next month’s blog, I will share my communication with Jacob’s spirit.
